PRESERVATION OF AIRSTRIPS2016-08-11T15:08:50+00:00

Project Description

PRESERVING OUR WILDERNESS ACCESS

Since the inception of the UBCP, members have volunteered hundreds of hours working with officials to maintain aviation's right to utilize the many airstrips that grant access to many remote wilderness areas other vehicles cannot encroach upon.  Airstrips like Mexican Mountain exist today because of these volunteers, and today, we continue to maintain our relationships with BLM, State, Federal, and private land managers to allow access to pilots of the future.

Aiding in the safe operations of our state's back country airstrips, the UBCP works hand-in-hand with BLM, State, Federal, and private land managers to develop airstrip preservation protocols.  Projects like our Mexican Mountain Runway Rehabilitation Project, which removed hazards such as overgrown vegetation from the runway, were not only managed by the UBCP, but funded by our members.

SUPPORT THE UBCP TODAY

Without the great efforts of our members, many of Utah's pristine wilderness airstrips would cease to exist today. Together we can continue a legacy of preserving and protecting Utah's Back Country Airstrips. We invite anyone and everyone to join us.
