Description: Delle is a gas station that features two runways just south of I-80.

Runway:1500 ft long x 40 ft wide runway 08/26 has brush lining the sides of the runway that might be an issue for low-wing airplanes.

Additional Runway: 2200 ft long x 40 ft wide hard dirt runway 15/33 with brush lining the sides of the runway that might be an issue for low-wing airplanes.

Approach Considerations: Billboard at the west end of runway 07/25 may make use of all available landing surface difficult. Be cautious of powerlines as well.  Potential for vehicular traffic mainly on runway 15/33.

Amenities: Yes. Fuel (MOGAS), gas station offers food and drinks (ask for the brisket sandwich).

Windsock: No.

I didn’t land this time. I was driving by on I80 to scope it out. I walked the full length of 8/26 and it looked great! Well compacted and no divots or holes. Good enough I plan on a visit on my RV6. 15/34 look decent but not as good as 8/26. Big tires definitely better for 15/34.

Lots of dirt bikes and UTVs using the runways, especially on the weekends. There are some areas of deeper gravel on the runway that can grab your tires. The gas station doesn't have ethanol free gas currently. There wasn't a lot of clearance on the bushes under the wing.

Landed on Runway 25 this morning in a RANS S-20 with 26” tires. Runway was in good condition. Watch out for broken glass at end of 25 near turnaround point.

Both runways average condition. Lots of ATV/dirt bike traffic around but none seemed to be using the runways.

First off airport landing with my weaksauce 150. Landed runway 25 and parked at the divider once you exit right on the runway. Talked to the nice ladies at the counter and there is ethenol free mogas at pump#2 and the hose is extra long to fuel planes. I didn't fuel up. but other apparently have. Almost used all of runway 07 to take off. 15/33 seemed ok if you had larger tires. Make sure to do a low pass to scare off any ATVs

What once started as a water depot for steam engines headed between Salt Lake and Wendover has now become one of Utah's iconic backcountry rest stops. And intertwined with its previous history serving as a railroad stop and the only place in Utah to taxi your airplane up to the gas pumps, Delle once served as an auxiliary field for the Wendover Air Force Base and Salt Lake Army Air Base. Additionally, it appears as though Delle served as an auxiliary field prior to its brief military service, having read in the 1931 Air Commerce Bulletin, "The intermediate landing field 3 miles west of Delle has been permanently discontinued."1 For now, the private land owners have been generous to avail the airstrips for public use, and the UBCP requests those who use the airstrip to be careful for other airstrip users as the airstrip serves as a starting-off point for many OHV riders.
