Enhancing Safety

It is the pilot's responsibility to operate his/her aircraft in a safe manner when operating in the back country both in the air and on the ground. Using power to taxi airplanes into parking areas should be avoided to minimize impact on other airstrip users.

It is recommended that pilots report airstrip conditions through the UBCP website as to help share conditions with future users.

Preserving Airstrips

It is the pilot's responsibility to utilize Utah's back country airstrips in a safe and responsible manner.

It is recommended that pilots minimize their impact on the airstrips when possible (ie. no touch-and-go operations).

Respecting the Environment

It is the pilot;s responsibility to follow responsible use guidelines such as "Leave no Trace" and "Pack it in / Pack it out".

It is recommended that pilots review any specific operation guidelines when in the back country (ie. fire restrictions).

Building Community

It is the pilot's responsibility to be a good representative to other users while in the back country, minding the sensitive nature of aviation's place in our public lands.

It is recommended that pilots assist other pilots in parking airplanes as to avoid sandblasting one another in the back country.
