First time stopping at Huntington. The outdoor restrooms were locked up, probably due to water being shut off due to freezing temps at night. Pilots lounge had shower and restroom, plenty of amenities (Wi-Fi, Power, Fridge, Microwave, etc.). Courtesy Car (SUV) was available for use with clear instructions on how to borrow it. Landed on 18, the dirt was nice and firm the transition onto the asphalt was smooth. Great place to stop and freshen up before hitting the Backcountry, Cedar Mtn and Mexican Mtn are within spitting distance.
Huntington has a grassy area and fire pit specifically for pilots. Shade structure with picnic tables adjacent to the grass camping area. Two restrooms with shower, sink & flush toilet adjacent to camping area. Pilot lounge with shower, flush toilet and sink nearby in hangar building. Usually inexpensive Avgas. Bring earplugs and eye shades for camping, as coal truck traffic continues throughout the night on the adjacent highway and to block out airport lighting.
