Be Aware of Canyon winds and density altitude. Runway 14 has a 1.7% uphill grade and several uneven “humps”. Use caution, the southern 3rd of the runway has a rut developing (several inches wide and deep by 80ft long) in the center of the runway (see picture). Parking area contains old mining debris, park with caution. No water or facilities near the airstrip.

Yesterday early AM. Would have been perfect if Jack the wandering lab would have not done a walkabout. The delayed departure presented some Xwind uphill take off experiences I’d rather have not had! The other doggie remembered his previous cactus experiences here and walked in my footsteps. A really pleasant morning. I thought I came up with a new arch to the SE. It seems like I’m the only person that did not know of Juanita Arch in Little Maverick Draw.

All in good shape. Two track down east side of runway is experiencing significant use, but no ruts. Winds spilling off LaSals came up pretty fast at 0825 hrs.

In good shape and a fantastic area. As others have noted, the eastern side of the runway is a bit rougher due to some drainage particularly toward the top. Regardless it is not significant.

Great shape! A couple ruts on the north end, east side, easily avoided.

surprisingly, absolutely smooth with an undulating uphill landing to the south... throttle up to an amazing view on a wide flat top.
