Josh Kelson visited Locomotive Springs 9 months ago in a C185 with 8.50 tires

Installed new windsock with UBCP logo on it. Keep an eye on wear for me. New weather station installed just east of the main parking, no factor for landing and departing aircraft. If doing low fly by keep an eye out.

Firstly thanks to the group that repaired the runway, it is in very good condition. Make sure to always do a good flyover inspection for dark areas on the runway which are damp/wet areas. It was very calm in the canyon with the windsock hanging limp so no problems. While visually intimidation it is plenty wide and one of the most picturesque places you can go. Camping area while a bit soft is in great condition.

Runway is in very good condition, dry and firm as always. Landed uphill in clam winds, got out at the end of runway 15 for the views and photos. As we here there a bit of a wind started and we took off downhill on 33, taking off uphill on 15 might have been a better idea, be very mindful of a tailwind with the high DA here. Both of out airplanes (the other was a 915 powered Kitfox) are very high performance backcountry planes, but a lessor performance plane might struggle even with that slight tailwind. Always a fun place to visit

Jeanne Henry visited Cedar Mountain 9 months ago in a Kitfox 7 Sti with 27.5” tires

Stock water troughs are no longer there. The runway was dry and in great shape. Landed on Runway 15 (slight uphill slope) and departed 33.
