Jason Dittmer visited Fremont Island Lower 3 months ago in a Scout with 31 tires

I touched tires, and nothing flew up on under side of the wing. So it appears surprisingly dry. Given the precipitation we had this past week.

Ben Peterson visited Sand Wash 3 months ago in a Carbon Cub with 26” tires

Landed to the east, first half of the airstrip is a bit rocky and bumpy, even with 26 inch tires. Plenty of room to land on the back half, however. Overall in decent shape. Crosswinds were challenging on takeoff and landing.

Taylor Munnerlyn visited Ibex / Tule Valley Hardpan 3 months ago in a Cessna T210

Flew into Ibex for the first time yesterday. Incredible place! A low pass revealed the best place to land and the surface was amazing. Wind sock looks like it still has some life left but is a bit tattered

Dan Richards visited Mineral Canyon 3 months ago in a Rans s-21

Runway was fine. Some cattle tracks and vehicle tracks made it look more rutted than it really was. Winds were calm.

Dan Richards visited Mexican Mountain 3 months ago in a Rans s-21

First time here. Landed west and took off east as recommended. Plenty of room on either side to avoid trees. Plenty of parking and camping areas. It’s been a bit since I hiked the black box routes but the scenery is even better from the air.

Randy Owen visited Red Reef / Punk Point 3 months ago in a Zenith 701 with 21” tires

Landed Red Reef/Punk Point today, runway is in good condition. It’s a little bouncy, with some cattle tracks, but not bad. Landing to the southwest is slightly uphill and recommended if wind permits. I didn’t have my measuring wheel with me, but I paced off 400 paces end to end, so probably between 1100 and 1200’ useable. The view from the reef, just off the northwest side of the runway is spectacular.
