Jason Blake visited Imlay 11 months ago in a Kitfox IV with 850x6 tires

UBCP Association members along with Southern Utah Aviation Association members cemented in the base and erected a windsock pole at Imlay Airstrip this past week. The sock is located about mid-field, 75 feet west of the strip. It's an orange & white striped 54" sock. We also dragged the weeds off the strip and south parking area. Strip is a little dusty, but nice and smooth and the whole width is again usable.

Due to heat and some swirly winds I did a low and slow flyover, strip looked good. Will be back to land in the cooler temperatures in the fall

JAY TOWNSEND visited Cedar Mountain 11 months ago in a Bearhawk Companion with GY 26 tires

Landed early uphill on RWY 15 and departed RWY 33. Got out for to take photos which are always great but the bugs were thick and or course got in the cockpit. RWY surface was smooth as always, great place to visit

JAY TOWNSEND visited Hidden Splendor 11 months ago in a Bearhawk Companioni with GY 26 tires

Did the canyon approach to RWY 35, did not land as it was getting warm with high DA’s. Did a low flyover and all looked good. One of my favorite strips

I put RWY needs work as taking off on RWY 27 from the very top it was super bumpy to the point of bouncing the plane. Landing on RWY 9 uphill was no problem and it was pretty smooth by Happy Canyon standards.

Landed and departed on 15, the start of 15 was pretty soft especially taxiing back the tail wheel dug in a fair amount.

Ben Peterson visited Musselman Airstrip 11 months ago in a NxCub with 26” tires

Wanted to check this place out. Green grass everywhere. Beautiful spot. Cones designate the strip. Do a low pass to make sure no cows are present, since they roam the area. One cone was in the center of the strip but easily avoided. Might return for a night someday, great hidden little spot.

Wendy Lessig visited High Spur 11 months ago in a Mooney with tiny tires

Flew over High Spur Airstrip. The runway surface looks like it has a lot of vegetation overgrowth. I had landed at this airstrip about 15 years ago and it was bumpy then, in a Cub with 31” tires. The adjacent road looks pretty smooth, but appears to have berms alongside of the road, left over from road grading. This airstrip is inside of Canyonlands NP, so consultation and coordination with the National Park Service would be needed to make sure this airstrip could be used.

First time staying up here. Debbie, the manager, does a great job and is very friendly. Crew cars are available, refrigerator etc, amenities everywhere. Highly recommend!

Airstrip is cleaned up and dry and in good condition. Bugs weren’t bad. Great view of great salt lake, enjoyed our overnight stay!
